“last night in the fields i lay down in the darkness to think about death, but instead I fell asleep, as if in a vast and sloping room filled with those white flowers that open all summer, sticky and untidy, in the warm fields. when i woke the morning light was just slipping in front of the stars,    and i was covered with blossoms.”

A LONG WAY FROM HOME(rare)

A relative newcomer to Eorzea, Thyme often asks for clarification on issues of geography or politics that even a schoolchild would call old hat. Sometimes, too, she course-corrects mid-sentence as though she were about to use the incorrect word— and if you have a sharp ear, you may catch her murmuring unfamiliar phrases under her breath (A favorite of hers: “wicked white!”)But pressing her for details won’t yield any answers— “I’m from VERY FAR AWAY,” she’ll simply say when asked. Perhaps if you can earn her trust…?

ii.

A READY HELPING HAND.

Thyme may not be a spell-slinging healer, but her years of experience with FIELD MEDICINE have rendered her an excellent hand in a pinch. She never goes anywhere without a first aid kit and a bulging satchel of tonics, all of which she made herself. And she gets plenty of practice: inexplicably, most of Thyme’s friends and loved ones absolutely adore pummeling each other for fun. While Thyme may not understand the urge, she’s always happy to help clean them up afterward.

iii.

INK-STAINED FINGERS.

Thyme is a voracious READER and lifelong JOURNALER— odds are she’s got at least one book in her satchel no matter where she is, whether its a dog-eared journal stuffed with notes & doodles, a volume of poetry, or even a bodice-ripper romance. Works of nonfiction, too, are some of her favorites; she has a fondness for dense textbooks and field guides that her loved ones tend to find utterly baffling.Read anything good recently? Thyme would love to hear about it! Need to borrow a pen? She can probably help with that, too!

OOC.

»      thanks for reading!    my name is red, and I’m a lesbian in my 30s based in the central timezone (utc-6). I’m usually available on evenings and weekends, and I prefer my writing partners to be   over 21.  »     IC is not OOC.   you know the drill by now, I hope: OOC communication expected, OOC consent respected. if I ever overstep, please tell me!»     I am not interested in writing romance storylines or ERP with thyme.   Feel free to have your OC flirt with her if you want, but apart from being a good bit of fun, it won’t lead anywhere. sorry! (by the way, have you seen her wife?)»   I love goofy one-offs and slice-of-life just as much as longer, character-driven storylines, and darker themes are a-OK as long as we work it out beforehand— though I’d like for us to have rapport OOC first. that said, if you’ve got an idea, throw me a pitch! I love nothing more than to put this bitch into situations™.»      looking for an apothecary?    rosemary’s respite is thyme’s apothecary business, which I run as an occasional pop-up RP venue. if you would like to purchase something from thyme, please click here to explore the storefront!
